I'm still here on the British side of the Atlantic but with less than two months to go, it was time to go shopping for clothes. I usually dress like a scruff but I decided that I'd rather have a little bit of style on this trip. The weather was nice so it was time to take up the bus trip challenge!
I spent over 2 hours travelling on the bus, I find public transport irritating; it never goes directly to the destination and always stops to pick up and let people off, if it didn't do any of these things it would be far more efficient, for me anyway. I miss having my own car. Eventually I arrived at my mother's whereupon we embarked upon my shopping adventure. It was suggested by my friend Sam, that I purchase a Frank Sinatra style hat, she thought it would be comical, however I told her that he would make me look like a 1950s theatrical Englishman whereupon I would be constantly saying such phrases as " Cover the table leg Samantha, your inflaming my sexual ardor!"
I got myself a new coat, some lovely jumpers, a new pair of trousers, some gloves and scarf I did however find an interesting hat but when I tried it on it made my ears stick out, so I thought better of buying that. I somehow doubt that to be the end of my hat buying, I believe there to be a New York mini quest in my future, to find me the perfect hat. So keep your eye on future posts and possible pictures of my perfect hat.
In other news, the hotel for the week we will be spending in New York itself, has been booked! It is in the centre of mid town and only one block away from the empire state building. It's called the hotel Pennsylvania and I'm very excited about it. I will post the link at the end of this post.
There is not much else to report, I'll be going clothes shopping again soon; you can never have enough clothes!
The Hotel!
